WWE and The CW have reached an agreement on a five-year deal to make The CW the new TV home for NXT in 2024.
Sports Business Journal reported the news on Tuesday. NXT has long been viewed as the developmental brand for WWE Superstars of the future, but in recent years current stars of shows like SmackDown and Raw have had stints and made recurring appearances on NXT.
“It was a competitive bidding process, and we are grateful that The CW stepped up in the way that they did to encourage WWE to make The CW the new long-term home of NXT,” WWE President Nick Khan said.
The addition of WWE programming complements the aggressive push The CW has made into live sports. The network currently has a deal in place to carry a weekly ACC football game and airs weekend coverage of LIV Golf. In 2025, The CW will become the new TV home for the NASCAR Xfinity Series.
Raw on Mondays remains the only brand from the wrestling promotion without a new TV rights deal. Earlier in the summer, it was announced that SmackDown would be moving from FOX on Friday nights to USA Network. NXT has aired on Tuesdays on USA since 2019.
