Seattle Sports host Brock Huard doesn’t like having to take over certain directing responsibilities of his show when co-host Mike Salk is out.
Huard was hosting Brock & Salk on Thursday morning with Seattle Mariners radio voice Aaron Goldsmith, and at one point Huard was trying to cue producer Maura Dooley to play the next sounder for the segment. There was a few seconds of awkward silence before Dooley realized Huard wanted her to hit play.
Huard and Dooley shared a quick laugh as the sounder played.
“How do you guys not have this figured out?” Goldsmith joked.
“I don’t like running the show, OK?” Huard responded. Goldsmith continued saying it was ironic in a way that the former Seahawks quarterback didn’t want to direct.
“Maybe for football games I don’t mind doing it, and certainly in coaches meetings, Aaron, I don’t mind doing it,” Brock said. “But on this show, it’s so much easier when Salk is here.”
Huard asked Dooley how Salk typically gives his production cues, and she said he’ll point at her.
“Every now and then he’s having a tired morning and he points and then keeps talking,” she said with a laugh.
