CNN announced a series of on-air appointments in Tokyo, Los Angeles, Atlanta, and Washington, D.C., on Monday.
Hanako Montgomery is joining CNN as an international correspondent based in Tokyo. She will report on regional news for CNN’s television and digital platforms.
“I am truly thrilled to join CNN and its top-class team of journalists and media professionals,” Montgomery said. “I will be reporting from Tokyo, home to so many fascinating stories and a focal point in the fast-moving politics of Asia.”
Along with Montgomery, Elizabeth Wagmeister joins CNN as an entertainment correspondent in Los Angeles. Previously, she served as the chief correspondent at Variety, balancing roles as a broadcaster, writer, and reporter.
The other addition is Elisa Raffa, who has returned to the network as a weather anchor and correspondent in Atlanta. She started her career as an intern with CNN’s domestic and international weather teams.
Raffa will appear on all of the networks and platforms. The American Meteorological Society recognizes her expertise in the field, certifying her as a broadcast meteorologist.
Finally, Julia Benbrook has joined CNN Newsource in Washington, D.C., as a correspondent. She will report for over 1,000 news partners worldwide after serving as an on-air correspondent at Spectrum News.
