Media Matters made headlines recently after reporting mainstream brand ads on X, formerly Twitter, appeared alongside pro-Nazi content.
On Friday, Elon Musk criticized a media watchdog and large advertisers who paused ad spending on X, the social network he owns. Furthermore, Musk threatened the outlet with a lawsuit. Media Matters president Angelo Carusone says Musk’s legal threat against the news watchdog organization is welcome.
Nonetheless, SiriusXM host Megyn Kelly recounted her run-ins with Media Matters and claimed that the outlet had attempted multiple times to fire her while she was at Fox News and NBC.
“Since I joined Fox and started coming up, they would take anything and everything I said completely out of context, try to spin it into a controversy and then try to get me fired,” Kelly said on The Megyn Kelly Show on Monday. “I mean, over and over and over and over my entire career.
“And then, including when I went to NBC, they pushed and pushed and pushed anything that I said they could make controversial all over the Internet. Their sole goal is to get conservatives fired, to get anybody right of center fired.”
