770 KTTH host Jason Rantz often promotes and publishes exclusive stories related to Seattle on social media. However, he says he’s often misunderstood for his motivations.
During The Jason Rantz Show, the Seattle host shared that he often sees an elderly man carrying a handful of items across the street from the station’s studios. He argued that no one ever helps the man enter the building, and that’s just one example of how Seattle has fallen as a city. He said while he’ll often post stories about the suffering some in the city face, it isn’t because he hopes to go viral.
“The people who are refusing to help are the ones who tell us that their position is compassionate and we’re the ones who lack compassion, and that drives me mad,” said Rantz. “These are human beings who are suffering. Sometimes, I will take photos or video of the suffering and I’ll post them online. I’ll post them on my X account and every so often, I will hear from the folks in the very camp that I cannot stand. The ones who tell me ‘Oh, look at you. You’re looking at human misery and you’re trying to get some clicks off of it.’, ‘Oh, you’ll get on Fox News.’
“I don’t need to help to get on Fox News. I don’t need to have images posted to my X account at all. I don’t need to have an X account to get on Fox, or to do my radio show, or to write my blogs, or to write my book. I don’t need it,” Rantz said. “The reason why I do it is because I don’t know how many people who live in an echo chamber in Seattle realize how bad certain parts of the city are. And I don’t think they realize the amount of suffering that’s happening on our streets in their name.”
Rantz currently makes regular appearances on Fox News as an interview subject.
