CBS Sports has announced its coverage plans for its 69th consecutive year broadcasting the Masters Tournament from Augusta National Golf Club, making it the longest-running sporting event broadcast on one network. Jim Nantz will host the network’s broadcast of the Masters for the 37th time, which officially marks his 39th consecutive year covering the tournament. Trevor Immelman, 2008 Masters champion, will join Nantz as the lead analyst on the broadcast for the second time.
The golf broadcasting team for CBS Sports will include Frank Nobilo, Verne Lundquist and Andrew Catalon, along with Ian Baker-Finch, Dottie Pepper and Amanda Balionis. Coverage will be produced by Sellers Shy and Jim Rikhoff, along with directors Steve Milton and Bob Matina. Replay producers for the Masters Tournament on CBS are Chris Svendsen and Andy Freeman, the latter of whom will also produce the Masters Highlights shows, which will be directed by Cory Fishman.
This will be the final Masters Tournament under the direction of CBS Sports Chairman Sean McManus, who is retiring from the role this month after spending parts of 28 years with the network. David Berson will succeed McManus in leading the network as president and chief executive officer.
Masters Live will add to the total broadcast coverage by providing viewers with four channels containing live action available on Paramount+, CBSSports.com and the CBS Sports mobile app. This will broaden total coverage by adding more than 100 hours of live video and in-progress highlights to the total content offering.
The channel lineup for Masters Live includes “Featured Groups,” which will include broadcasters Shane Bacon, Colt Knost and Billy Kratzert during morning coverage. In the afternoons, Brian Crowell and Smylie Kaufman will encompass the announcing team. The “Amen Corner” channel will feature Grant Boone and Mark Immelman, offering live coverage of the 11th, 12th and 13th holes. For the “Holes 15 & 16” channel, Iona Stephen, Ned Michaels and Smylie Kaufman will be on the air to give their commentary and analysis.
Lastly, the “Masters On the Range” channel will include analysis, interviews and highlights throughout the tournament featuring Kelly Tilghman, Michael Breed, Brian Crowell, Amanda Balionis and Iona Stephen. The Masters Live platform will also contain video highlights and aerial footage of August National in addition to historic footage and Interview Room clips.
CBS Sports will also air five Masters specials on the CBS linear television network and streaming live on Paramount+ that will reminisce on historic moments leading up to the tournament action.
