Miami Dolphins quarterback Tua Tagovailoa has said he has previously considered retiring from the NFL after suffering multiple concussions. On Thursday Night Football this week, Tagovailoa suffered yet another concussion after colliding with Damar Hamlin of the Buffalo Bills and that was the topic of many sports shows as various members of the sports media expressed concern for him and continued to discuss how the game of football can better protect its players.
Several in the sports media took to their social media accounts to give their opinions on what the future may hold for Tagovailoa and how seriously he might need to consider stepping back from the game.
One of the stronger opinions came from FS1’s Emmanuel Acho who wrote, “It’s not fair to anyone for Tua to keep playing football. Not to his team, his family, his opponents, his fans, but most importantly himself and his health.”
