ESPN Monday Night Football Draws Over 15 Million Viewers

The audience of just over 15 million viewers was ESPN’s third-best Monday Night Football viewership for an ESPN/ESPN2 game – which was not simulcast on ABC – since the 2019-20 season, a span of more than 50 games.

Monday Night Football on ESPN in week 2 drew more than 15 million viewers in a combined number from ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Deportes and NFL+. The game featured the Philadelphia Eagles and the Atlanta Falcons. The first half was a low scoring affair with the Eagles having a 7-6 lead. Atlanta never scored more than 10 points in a quarter but won the game 22-21.

The audience of just over 15 million viewers was ESPN’s third-best Monday Night Football viewership for an ESPN/ESPN2 game – which was not simulcast on ABC – since the 2019-20 season, a span of more than 50 games.

Last season, Monday Night Football featured two games in Week 2, one exclusively on ABC and another on ESPN.

On ESPN2, Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli delivered 1.34 million of those viewers. That number is a 12% increase from the 1.2 million average the show had for all 10 of its broadcasts last season.

Additionally, ESPN said Monday Night Countdown saw a week over week increase. The show aired from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. ET and was up 8% or around 100,000 additional viewers. Last season the show aired from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. ET and was viewed by 30% less of an audience.

Next Monday night, the game will feature the winless Jacksonville Jaguars taking on the 2-0 Buffalo Bills.
