ESPN Monday Night Football Draws Over 15 Million Viewers

The audience of just over 15 million viewers was ESPN’s third-best Monday Night Football viewership for an ESPN/ESPN2 game – which was not simulcast on ABC – since the 2019-20 season, a span of more than 50 games.

Monday Night Football on ESPN in week 2 drew more than 15 million viewers in a combined number from ESPN, ESPN2, ESPN Deportes and NFL+. The game featured the Philadelphia Eagles and the Atlanta Falcons. The first half was a low scoring affair with the Eagles having a 7-6 lead. Atlanta never scored more than 10 points in a quarter but won the game 22-21.

On ESPN2, Monday Night Football with Peyton and Eli delivered 1.34 million of those viewers. That number is a 12% increase from the 1.2 million average the show had for all 10 of its broadcasts last season.

Additionally, ESPN said Monday Night Countdown saw a week over week increase. The show aired from 6 p.m. to 8 p.m. ET and was up 8% or around 100,000 additional viewers. Last season the show aired from 5 p.m. to 7 p.m. ET and was viewed by 30% less of an audience.

Next Monday night, the game will feature the winless Jacksonville Jaguars taking on the 2-0 Buffalo Bills.
