MSNBC host Stephanie Ruhle secured a high-profile interview with Vice President Kamala Harris that aired Wednesday. Fox News host Sean Hannity believes it was something similar to what he does routinely.
On his primetime program Hannity on Wednesday, the longtime Fox News host criticized the Democratic nominee and her campaign for choosing to do her first one-on-one interview since securing the top spot on the party’s presidential ticket with a friendly news organization.
“Kamala Harris sat down for her first and only solo national interview — how brave of the campaign — with, of course, one of her top supporters at MSDNC (sic), Stephanie Ruhle,” said Hannity. “Now, (Ruhle) is a big supporter of Kamala Harris. She is rooting for Kamala to win. That’s fine in my book. She is a radical, left-wing talk show host. Needless to say, this was not a hard-hitting interview with a nonpartisan reporter.”
Sean Hannity continued by noting that he can’t be very critical of Ruhle or her approach to the interview because that would make him a hypocrite.
“I interviewed Donald Trump. And I definitely want Donald Trump to win. I am not shy about it. I say it all the time,” he said.
However, he did criticize Ruhle by arguing that she isn’t a journalist but is a pundit, just like he is.
“We have members of — both members of the press. She fancies herself a journalist,” said Hannity. “She is not, she is a talk-show host like me.”
