As Paramount continues its ongoing layoffs, Executive Vice President of Podcasting and Audio Steve Raizes has revealed he is one of the members departing the organization.
In a post to social media, Raizes shared that he is no longer with the company.
There is no experience I am more proud of, no group of people I am more impressed by, than you. What we have put together here is unparalleled across the streaming world, including our last four launches all hitting #1 on the charts (Agent of Betrayal, The Weekly Show, 48 Hours: Blood is Thicker and 60 Minutes: A Second Look) while creating new direct sales packages and breaking records on subscriptions,” said Raizes. “You are all rockstars.”
Steve Raizes has overseen the podcast division for Paramount since 2019. He was elevated to Executive Vice President of Podcasting and Audio in 2022 after having worked with Viacom and CBS since 2000 before its merger with Paramount..
Under his leadership, the division has grown to be the ninth highest-ranking U.S. Podcast Publisher according to the most recent metrics from data firm Podtrac. The network finished with the same ranking on the list of Sales Networks by Weekly Average Download from Triton Digital.
Paramount’s show 48 Hours finished August as the 19th-highest podcast according to Podtrac. In the rankings from Triton Digital, it was the 11th podcast by Weekly Average Downloads.
