ABC World News Tonight with David Muir continues its impressive ratings success as it remains the most-watched newscast in all of television.
The nightly newscast anchored by Muir tops both network and cable television as the most-watched newscast in America after increasing its lead over NBC Nightly News last week during the season premiere week.
In total viewers, the ABC News program averaged 7,068,000 viewers for the week of September 30th. That bested NBC Nightly News (5.7 million) and CBS Evening News (4.3 million) for the week.
In the Adults 25-54 demographic, the Muir-led program also led the ratings with 940,000 viewers. The NBC News program anchored by Lester Holt saw 813,000 viewers, while the CBS News show in the category anchored by Norah O’Donnell saw 601,000 viewers on average.
ABC News has led the ratings in the nightly newscast sector for 303 of the past 306 weeks in the total viewer category and has won the Adults 25-54 demographic in 231 of the last 236 weeks.
