Longtime NFL reporter Michael Silver will once again be covering the league from a national perspective as he has been hired by The Athletic. Silver, who spent many years chronicling the league at Sports Illustrated then at Yahoo Sports and NFL Network, had most recently been with the San Francisco Chronicle.
Silver posted on his X account, “I’m elated to be joining The Athletic as a Senior NFL Writer. I enjoyed my two-plus years at the SF Chronicle and am psyched to get back to covering the league’s most compelling stories on a national level. I’m stoked to be part of an elite team. Let’s get to work.”
He also posted a graphic with a quote that said, “The Athletic’s commitment to covering the NFL made it a perfect place for me to continue my pursuit of unparalleled access to the league’s most compelling personalities.”
Silver has written several books as well including Rice with Jerry Rice, Walk on the Wild Side with Dennis Rodman and All Things Possible with Kurt Warner.
