CBS News talent recruitment and development executive Alison Pepper has announced she will depart the organization after the upcoming election.
Pepper is in her second stint with the organization. She rejoined in 2021 and has overseen talent recruitment and development across all CBS News platforms. She alluded to the changing nature of parent company Paramount Global as part of the reason for her departure.
“I have had the privilege of working each day with all of you, many of whom I consider to be like family, as you navigated some of the most impactful news stories of our time with integrity, ingenuity and grit…and I have loved every minute of it,” Pepper wrote in a memo to employees. “But with the seismic shifts facing our organization, I have made the difficult decision to leave CBS News after the election.”
During her first tenure with the company, she rose to Senior Producer at 60 Minutes before leaving to become a talent agent at CAA.
“I will never stop rooting for you, the exceptional journalists that I have had the honor of working with and championing,” Pepper added. “You always have been and always will be the gold standard.”
The news of her exit was first reported by Variety.
