Audacy’s Hot AC station, 99.1 The Mix, WMYX Milwaukee, has picked Jay Michaels to fill its afternoon slot. Michaels will broadcast remotely from Houston.
Michaels currently serves as Assistant Brand Manager for Variety Hits “95.7 The Spot” KKHH and hosts middays at Hot AC “Mix 96.5” KHMX; he is set to debut on Monday, November 25.
He will take over the role left vacant by Tim Lethlean, who departed at the end of October. (BMM 11/4)
He expressed excitement about reuniting with Taylor Vaughn, the Assistant Brand Manager and midday host at The Mix, with whom he previously co-hosted morning shows at WMGI in Terre Haute, Indiana, back in 2010.
Michaels joined Audacy Houston in May 2023 from his previous role as Operations Manager at Cumulus Media Shreveport, where he also served as Program Director and morning host for Hot AC “Q97.3” KQHN.
His career includes a seven-year tenure at Cumulus Indianapolis, where he was Program Director for various formats, including Top 40 “Energy 93.9” WYRG, its former branding as “i94,” Classic Hip Hop “93.9 The Beat” WRWM, and Classic Hits “104.5” WJJK. Other stops include WDJX in Louisville and WSTO in Evansville, IN.
