Tom Alvord has announced that he is no longer with 97.5 The Fanatic, ending his four-year run with the station. Alvord worked for the station and contributed to various shows across dayparts over the years. Through a post on the X platform early Wednesday, he revealed that he has not been with the Beasley Media Group-owned sports talk radio station as of last week.
“It has been an absolute pleasure living out my dream over the last 4 years,” Alvord said. “Thank you to everyone who made it possible including my awesome co-workers and of course you great listeners! Appreciate all of you!”
Alvord received positive comments on his post from colleagues and other media members, including Sean Barnard, David Malandra Jr. and Luke Arcaini. John Kincade, who co-hosts morning drive on the outlet, expressed that he hopes to see him soon and potentially back with the station in the future. Afternoon show producer Sylvana Kelleher wished Alvord the best of luck and thanked him for teaching her a lot of what she knows.
Alvord’s departure comes several months after other changes at the station took place surrounding its weekday programming lineup. Midday host Bob Cooney exited the station in late July ahead of the return of Mike Missanelli. Moreover, 97.5 The Fanatic and Beasley Media Group signed Ricky Bottalico to a multiyear extension through which he is continuing as a co-host of The Best Show Ever? in afternoon drive.
