After 28 years, Fox News anchor Neil Cavuto is exiting the cable news giant, with today being his final day with the channel.
Thursday’s episode of Your World will be Cavuto’s last as his contract is up at the conclusion of the month.
Sources close to the situation claim the longtime anchor was offered a new contract to remain with Fox News, but decided against renewing.
In addition to his work at Fox News, Neil Cavuto also anchored a show — Cavuto: Coast to Coast — on Fox Business.
Fox News congratulated Cavuto on his long tenure with the network in a statement to Barrett Media.
“Neil Cavuto’s illustrious career has been a master class in journalism and we’re extremely proud of his incredible 28-year run with FOX News Media. His programs have defined business news and set the standard for the entire industry. We wish him a heartfelt farewell and all the best on his next chapter.”
The 66-year-old Cavuto is expected to address his departure on his Fox News program Thursday afternoon. It is unclear what the next step in his broadcasting career — which has included a previous tenure at CNBC — going forward
