Educational Media Foundation (EMF) is about to acquire nonprofit 88.1 KDHX in St. Louis. K-Love, Inc., based in Tennessee, is a national Christian radio network.

EMF operates K-LOVE and Air1 networks that feature Christian music.

As reported by the St. Louis Business Journal, Double Helix Corp, the station licensee, said, “This decision secures the organization’s ability to continue its mission and creates a solid foundation for a successful transition, thus responding to current changes in the media landscape.”

The President of the KDHX board, Gary Pierson, said, “We’ve tried to do the right thing and put the organization in a position where it could have a future,”

The station filed a Chapter 11 bankruptcy earlier this month.

The price is reported at $4.35 million, but it could rise to $4.8 million if the sale is completed quickly.
