FOX Sports host Charissa Thompson is not leaving her position with FOX Sports. The 42-year-old media personality wanted to clear the air in the latest episode of her Calm Down podcast featuring co-host and FOX Sports reporter Erin Andrews.
During the episode, Thompson addressed some headlines that had come to her attention about her being fired from FOX Sports, drawing concern from her friends and family. Although the headlines and stories were untrue, she decided to address the issue publicly.
“No, I am not leaving FOX. I was never leaving FOX,” explained Thompson. “I don’t know where this took on a life, whereas I was hosting my family here at the ranch this past weekend, four of my family members asked, ‘Well the place looks nice, but how are you going to afford it now that you don’t have a job?’”
Thompson joined FOX Sports in 2013 and has since become a regular part of football coverage across multiple networks, hosting FOX NFL Kickoff and contributing interviews and features to its pregame shows. In addition, she also works on studio coverage for Thursday Night Football on Amazon’s Prime Video, a role she has held since the property launched during the 2022 season.
Meanwhile, although Thompson did not reveal the source of the headlines that captured her family’s attention, her contract with the network has expired with no news on an extension from either FOX Sports or Thompson herself. Following the Super Bowl this past February, Thompson noted her contract was up with FOX Sports, saying she loves the company and feels FOX is family to her.
Nevertheless, Thompson insisted she’s not going anywhere.
“FOX is my longest relationship,” said Thompson. “I have worked there since I was what, 22 years old starting in the HR department. So yes, I love FOX, I will hopefully end my career there in a long, long time. But anyways, it’s not ending anytime soon. That’s a fake headline.”
