WTOP has named Nick Iannelli its new evening anchor at the Hubbard Radio Washington D.C. all-news station.
Iannelli fills the void vacated in the evening anchor chair after Dimitri Sotis died in January at the age of 55. Sotis spent two decades anchoring the daypart for WTOP.
In a post to social media, Iannelli shared that he has been named the new evening anchor.
“You can find me anchoring each evening now on WTOP,” Iannelli wrote. “Excited for this new chapter at the station. This shift, of course, will always belong to our dear friend Dimitri Sotis. I’ll just be trying my best.”
Nick Iannelli has been with WTOP since 2013. Previously, he spent time as a news writer for Real Estate Today Radio, as well as five years as a news anchor and reporter at 620 WTMJ in Milwaukee.
