Fox News Radio Celebrates 20th Anniversary

Fox News Radio currently has more than 2,700 affiliates after originally launching with 60 in 2005.

Fox News Radio has a milestone to celebrate, as the radio network celebrates its 20th anniversary this week.

The network originally signed on the air on Wednesday, June 1st, 2005. At the time of its debut, Fox News Radio provided hourly five-minute newscasts, as well as, one-minute updates at the bottom of the hour to 60 AM/FM radio stations. That figure has grown to more than 2,700 affiliates nationwide.

In a memo to staffers, Fox News Audio Senior Vice President John Sylvester commemorated the occasion.

“For two decades, the FOX News Radio Network has been a definitive source for breaking news and in-depth analysis. We’re 20 years strong and still growing, proudly keeping radio affiliates informed 24 hours a day,” Slyvester wrote.

“Powered by the #1 name in News, our radio teams in New York, Washington, LA, London, Miami, and Chicago consistently provide listeners with essential hourly newscasts, critical one-minute updates, Fox News Alerts, comprehensive business news, sports, entertainment, weather, and expert interviews from every corner of the world. Our dedicated anchors and vast network of correspondents ensure we provide crucial insights and the up to the minute news updates.”

Sylvester added that he’s proud of the network’s ability to evolve, stating it has “constantly adapted and connected to our audience through new forms of technology to keep them informed and engaged.”

“Having been here in 2005 for that very first newscast was an honor and seeing our growth over the past 20 years has been even more of a thrill,” he continued. “Your relentless newsgathering and expert analysis have made the FOX News Radio Network what it is today. Thank you for your tireless efforts and for being an integral part of this remarkable success.

“We’re committed to pushing forward our ‘anytime, everywhere’ approach, connecting directly with our fans and listeners through podcasts, digital platforms, satellite radio, smart speakers, social media, and AM/FM radio. We will continue that journey for every FOX News listener.”
