ESPN has reached a multi-year extension with Major League Baseball insider Jesse Rogers, ensuring the veteran reporter will continue covering the sport on both national and team-specific levels.

Rogers, who joined ESPN in 2009, has reported extensively on the Chicago Cubs, Chicago White Sox, and Major League Baseball as a whole. Under the new agreement, he will maintain his reporting and writing contributions for ESPN.com while continuing to appear on Baseball Tonight, SportsCenter, and select MLB on ESPN Radio broadcasts.

“I’m excited to continue covering the sport I love at ESPN, telling the stories that matter most to fans and working with such a talented team of reporters,” Rogers said in a statement.

Throughout his tenure, Rogers has become a trusted voice in the baseball community, known for breaking news, in-depth features, and insightful analysis. His reporting has chronicled everything from major trades and front-office moves to emerging stars and on-field milestones, earning him recognition among peers and fans alike.

Rogers is also an accomplished author. In 2018, he published Try Not to Suck: The Exceptional, Extraordinary Baseball Life of Joe Maddon, co-written with Bill Chastain. The book chronicles the career of former Cubs manager Joe Maddon, highlighting his unconventional approach and impact on modern baseball.

Over more than 15 years at ESPN, Rogers has established himself as a go-to source for breaking baseball news, blending traditional reporting with digital storytelling. Fans can expect his coverage to continue spanning print, digital, and broadcast formats, reinforcing ESPN’s position as a leader in MLB reporting.

ESPN and Major League Baseball announced last month a new rights agreement that hands the network exclusive control of MLB.TV and expands both national and local game coverage across ESPN platforms. The new agreement will run from 2026 through 2028.

With Rogers’ extension in place, ESPN solidifies its coverage of America’s pastime while ensuring fans receive informed, timely, and compelling content from one of the game’s most respected journalists.
