Brazos Valley Communications has added Tino Cochino Radio to KBXT (101.9 The Beat). The personality-driven show launches in afternoons from 2-6pm.
What We Know: KBXT, a hip-hop formatted station in College Station, TX, replaced The Dana Cortez Show with Tino Cochino Radio. YEA Networks produces the four-hour afternoon program. The show features popular segments including Battle of the Rosas and Serina’s Tea. Beyond this, the station expects strong community integration.
What They Said: Program Director Edward Sanchez and Joseph Sanchez said the show brings “a refreshing, upbeat sound to The Beat’s airwaves.” They emphasized that Tino Cochino Radio maintains incredible personality and chemistry. Furthermore, Tino Cochino himself highlighted his Texas roots. “Being from Texas, it always feels special to welcome new Texas affiliates,” Cochino shared. “Texas has always been home, so every new partnership in the Lone Star State means a little more. I can’t wait to connect with the community and make Aggieland part of the TCR familia!”
What Remains Unclear: Contract length and renewal options haven’t been announced. Additionally, specific ratings targets for the daypart stay undisclosed. Promotion details and launch timing also remain private. Finally, cross-promotion plans with other Brazos Valley properties aren’t yet public.
What It Means: This addition demonstrates KBXT’s focus on personality-driven content. Meanwhile, YEA Networks continues expanding its Texas affiliate network. Ultimately, Bryan-College Station listeners now have fresh entertainment during peak afternoon drive time. The move signals radio’s ongoing emphasis on show chemistry over music alone.
