Steve Kornacki has been a pivotal player in election coverage for MSNBC in recent years. He has become famous for his work at the network’s “big board” full of election data and insights.

Kornacki will transition to NBC News as a contributor while also remaining a key figure on Meet the Press. Additionally, as part of his new contract, he’ll contribute to coverage on NBC Sports, including the network’s coverage of the NFL, upcoming NBA broadcasts, as well as data-driven aspects of sports like horse racing and tennis, among others.

The 45-year-old Kornacki joined MSNBC in 2012. He joined the network after previously working as a political contributor at rival CNN. He saw his profile rise in 2020 as a fixture in the network’s election coverage. Later, NBC News added him to its sports coverage in 2021. In 2020, People magazine listed him as one of the sexiest men alive after his newfound fame.

The move was first reported by The Los Angeles Times.
