CSN Bay Area, the home of “Authentic Bay Area Sports,” has registered multiple viewership milestones and streaming records for its Golden State Warriors telecasts during the first half of the 2015-16 NBA season.
Highlights from the first half of the season include:
- Year-to-date, Warriors average household ratings on CSN Bay Area are 8.43 (approximately 209,486 households, San Francisco DMA – San Francisco/Oakland/San Jose), up +124% from the 2014-15 championship season viewership and is on pace to be the highest rated season ever for the team;
- Ratings in key ad demos registered increased numbers, including Adults 18-49 (+103%), Adults 25-54 (+111%), Men 18-49 (+75%), Men 25-54 (+87%), Women 18-49 (+156%) and Women 25-54 (+161%);
- CSN Bay Area posted its highest-rated game telecast in the history of the network – a 16.08 household rating for its coverage of the Jan. 25th Warriors-San Antonio Spurs game. The telecast averaged approximately 399,508 households for the entire game and posted a 17.24 peak rating (approximately 428,303 households). The previous rating high was the Oct. 3, 2010 San Francisco Giants’ NL West clinch game against the San Diego Padres (11.83);
- Year-to-date, Warriors 2015-16 average household ratings on CSN Bay Area are up compared to the team’s previous playoff years: +427% vs. 2006-07; +195% vs. 2012-13; +160% vs. 2013-14; and +124% vs. 2014-15;
- CSN Bay Area’s signature shows Warriors Pregame Live (+96%) and Warriors Postgame Live (+159%) have posted impressive households gains compared to last season. Warriors Postgame Live is delivering a household rating average of a 5.23 (approximately 129,954 households);
- CSN Bay Area Digital set a network record with 2.9 million minutes streamed and 66K live starts for the Jan. 25th Warriors-Spurs game. Through 45 games, fans have consumed 50.91 million minutes of Warriors game on CSNBayArea.com and via NBC Sports Live Extra. Warriors streaming numbers are +447% compared to the same point in the 2014-15 season;
- CSN Bay Area has out-delivered all nine ESPN and TNT simulcasts head-to-head in the local market by an average of 150% in total audience;
- CSN Bay Area’s top 10 highest-rated Warriors games of all-time occurred during the first half of the 2015-16 season:
