Lick the Plate, a culinary and music feature created by host David Boylan is partnering with The Mighty 1090 in San Diego.
Lick the Plate launched in San Diego during 2011, now offered in Traverse City, MI, Detroit and Windsor, Ontario, the show will begin incorporating sports for its return to San Diego by way of 1090.
“I honestly think that an interest in food, music, and sports is inherent in everyone to varying degrees. Foodies, music heads, and sports fans are morphing and a prime example of that is the variety of food now found at most stadiums and the music that has been integrated into the sports experience during warm-ups, time-outs, and halftime shows,” host David Boylan said Lick the Plate partnering with its first sports station.
“And let’s face it, even foodies that don’t consider themselves sports fans can get caught up in the excitement of their hometown team on a hot streak, the energy of baseball season on opening day, or an MVP caliber player in their town.”
Lick the Plate is a two minute feature which will air twice each weekday on 1090, during the first commercial break in the 7pm and 10pm hours. The show will also be offered on the station’s website as a podcast. Boylan has interviewed hundreds of guests from the food, beverage and restaurant industry since the feature’s launch in 2011, now the host looks forward to bringing professional athletes and sports personalities into the mix.
“I’ve been a big fan of Lick the Plate and have followed it closely over the years. Bringing a sports element to the show makes sense on many levels and we are excited to add this innovative content to our programming mix,” said Mike Shepard, VP of Programming and Operations at 1090’s parent company, Broadcast Company of the Americas.
Lick the Plate will debut on The Mighty 1090 beginning January 7th, 2019.
