John Hanson is going home. After nearly six years of programming 610 Sports in Kansas City, Hanson is returning to Minneapolis to take the reigns of legendary news/talk station WCCO.
“I’ve tuned into this station my entire life, so I know all about its legendary past,” said Hanson. “I look forward to WCCO’s exciting future that meets the interests and fast-paced needs of today’s listener.”
To fill Hanson’s void, 610 has promoted Steven Spector to become the station’s new program director. Spector had worked closely with Hanson, preparing for the next step in his career. Since joining the Kansas City sports station he’s produced the morning show with Bob Fescoe, and 610’s afternoon show The Drive featuring Carrington Harrison and Brad Fanning.
