Stephanie Ready is leaving Charlotte to take another job in the broadcasting industry. She has not yet announced who her new employer will be.
She started with For Sports Carolina in 2004 as a sideline reporter for the then-Charlotte Bobcats. She has been with the team ever since. In 2015 she became the first woman to serve as a full-time analyst for an NBA team. She moved back to the sidelines last season. Ready’s final game was Saturday night when the Hornets fell to the Lakers.
A number of Charlotte media members have taken to Twitter to wish Ready well. She says she cannot announce her new gig for another week.
Prior to making the move to broadcasting, Ready was a men’s basketball coach. She served as an assistant at her alma mater, Coppin State University and as head coach of the then-NBDL’s Greenville Groove.
