Max Media announced Nick Cattles will take over the role of program director at ESPN Radio 94.1 in Norfolk, Virginia.
In addition to his programming responsibilities, Cattles will continue to serve as the radio station’s afternoon drive host. Cattles steps into the program director role after Mark McKay announced his departure from 94.1 last week, concluding a 20-year tenure with the station.
“I’m so grateful for being named the new PD of ESPN Radio 94.1,” Cattles said. “I’ve loved my time working as a host at the station and now enthusiastically jump into this next challenge. I’d like to thank Keith Barton, Rusty James and the ownership at Max Media for this opportunity.”
Cattles spent four years at 94.1 before leaving Virginia to join Boston’s 98.5 The Sports Hub in February 2017. Last May, the radio host announced he was heading back to Norfolk to relaunch The Nick Cattles Show on ESPN 94.1.
“We are very excited to give the PD nod to Nick,” Max Media VP/GM Keith Barton said. “No one is as passionate about this station and its listeners as Nick Cattles and his team.”
The Nick Cattles Show is currently the only local weekday show on ESPN 94.1, broadcasting daily from 3 – 6pm ET. Cattles also hosts part-time on ESPN’s national radio network.
