Earlier this week on The Barstool Radio Show Dave Portnoy revealed that he and Barstool Sports received a letter from an attorney representing LeBron James demanding that the site remove a video of LeBron James Jr. using profanity and mysogynistic language.
The letter argues that the video was not from a public platform, but instead from a private Snapchat message and that LeBron James Jr. is not a public figure. The attorney also states that the 14-year-old was mimicking “something else from pop culture.”
Portnoy, who read the letter on air, said that Barstool did not post the video. The company simply shared it on its site and on Twitter. He also argued that LeBron James has made his son a public figure by posting photos and videos of the boy on his various social media accounts. Portnoy also noted that he was unaware of whatever it was that James Jr. was mimicking in the video.
