The patron saint of baseball cinema, Kevin Costner, did not take kindly to a question about Field of Dreams on The Dan Patrick Show on Tuesday morning and responded with one of George Carlin’s seven words you can’t say on the air.
Producer Paul Pabst asked Costner if he was worried that the movie may end up being too silly. He said that it could be a risk for Costner, who was at “the peak” of his fame at the time.
Costner clearly didn’t like the implication that his fame has peaked and is now on the decline and responded with “What the F are you talking about?”.
Dan Patrick said “We can’t do that” as the room erupted in laughter and gasps. Costner, realizing what he had just done also began to laugh. Patrick followed that up by chiding Pabst for the way his question was worded.
Kevin Costner was on to promote the second season of his cowboy drama Yellowstone, which makes its season two premier Wednesday on the Paramount Network.
