Aly Trost took to Twitter this morning to announce that she was leaving roles with 610 Sports and SB Nation’s Arrowhead Pride blog. She says that she is pursuing a new opportunity with 610’s crosstown rival WHB.
While WHB and Union Broadcasting have not officially commented on what Trost’s role will be at the station, plenty of fans and listeners have speculated on social media that she will be part of a new afternoon show. Union parted ways with afternoon host Kevin Kietzman last week after his comments about Andy Reid’s family set off a firestorm of controversy.
Trost is well-established on the Kansas City sports scene. She has covered both the Chiefs and Sporting KC in her career. Both teams have official broadcasting relationships with WHB.
The station’s morning host and Sporting KC radio voice Nick Bukaty was quick to welcome his new colleague.
