Soren Petro Moving To Afternoons On 810 WHB

Union Broadcasting didn’t look far to find its new afternoon show. 810 WHB midday host Soren Petro will move back four hours to fill the void in afternoons. The station will be announcing a new midday show soon.

Petro will now be heard from 2-6 pm each weekday. Kurtis Seaboldt and Jed Marshall will produce the show with Seaboldt also serving as a co-host.

“For over 15 years I’ve enjoyed hosting The Program middays on Kansas City’s only locally owned and operated sports station,” Petro said in a press release. “WHB is truly a special place to work and I am excited to move to afternoons 2PM-6PM. Sports Radio 810 WHB has been a tremendous place for me to work and grow as a show host and I am thrilled to take the next step in my career with the afternoon slot on 810.”

An opening was created in afternoon drive after WHB parted ways with Kevin Kietzman amid controversy created by Kietzman’s comments about Andy Reid and his sons. In addition to hosting Between the Lines in afternoon drive on WHB, Kietzman was also part of Union Broadcasting ownership.

“Soren is the consummate professional and is one of the best sports radio talk show hosts in the country,” Union Broadcasting President Chad Boeger said. “We are thrilled to have Soren move to the afternoon time slot to what we think is the best lineup of local sports talk anywhere.”
