ESPN will welcome a new NFL analyst to its ranks on Friday. Former Jaguars and Raiders head coach Jack Del Rio will make his debut on NFL Live. He will also make appearances on ESPN Radio and SportsCenter throughout the season.
“Jack was highly successful as a player and coach,” ESPN Vice President Seth Markman said in a press release. “He sees the game from both perspectives, and he doesn’t shy away from sharing his honest opinion. He will be a great addition to our ESPN team.”
Del Rio played linebacker for four NFL teams during his 11 year playing career. His coaching career began in 1997. He became the head coach of the Jacksonville Jaguars in 2003, a job he held for nine seasons. He would spend 2015-2017 as the head coach of the Oakland Raiders.
“I’ve visited several training camps over the last few weeks, and I’m really looking forward to the upcoming football season and my new role with ESPN!” Del Rio said in a press release.
