Rick Kamla’s run in Houston has ended less than three months after it began. The afternoon talk show host on Sports Radio 610 is leaving for a expanded role on SiriusXM NBA Radio. Kamla will host Give and Go alongside former guard Antonio Daniels each weekday from 1p-4p ET.
610 hired Kamla in July to be part of the station’s new afternoon show alongside Clint Stoerner. A Minneapolis native, he’d been with NBA TV since 2003, and spent more than 7 years hosting shows for 92.9 The Game in Atlanta. He’s also been hosting a program on SiriusXM’s fantasy sports channel.
Kamla commented on Twitter, “I want to thank everyone at @SportsRadio610. I’m grateful for the opportunity in Houston and I wish them all the best. I am excited about an expanded role with @SiriusXMNBA and @SiriusXMFantasy with more details to come next week.”
In the interim, 610 will move forward in afternoons with Stoerner and a mixture of different voices until they decide on a permanent replacement.
