One of the most notable accomplishments of his career came in 2000. While serving as a member of the Board of Directors of the Radio-Television News Directors Association, he lobbied the United States Supreme Court to allow remarks and arguments in the case of Bush v. Gore to be broadcast. A recording aired on December 12, 2000 was the first time arguments from inside the Supreme Court were broadcast to the public.

A memo to Radio Insight describes Berry’s new duties. “[H]e’ll provide strategic guidance for our spoken word formats and connect key advertisers with iHeartMedia’s News, Talk and Sports audiences.” iHeartMedia operates 75 sports talk stations across the United States.
