Greg Olsen Added To Fox Super Bowl, XFL Broadcasts

Greg Olsen hasn’t retired from the NFL yet, but he has already lined up a busy offseason as a FOX employee. The network will utilize the Panthers tight end for its coverage of Super Bowl LIV in February. After that, Joe Person of The Athletic reports that Olsen will work five XFL broadcasts for the network.

Broadcast networks have shown interested in Olsen each of the last three offseasons. He has used the Panthers’ bye week each of the last three years to call a game for FOX. He has also worked with ESPN as a studio analyst.

When Olsen left the Panthers’ final media availability of the season, he made the comment that it felt like he was leaving for the last time. Still though, he has yet to make a final decision regarding next season. Plenty of reporters have speculated that if Olsen does come back, he could join former Panthers coach Ron Rivera in Washington.

Michael McCarthy of Front Office Sports reported earlier this month that ESPN intends to offer Tony Romo an eight-figure annual salary when his CBS contract expires next month. If Olsen does hang up his cleats, he could be an attractive alternative for the networks that lose the Romo sweepstakes.
