Turner Sports announced on Monday that Charles Barkley’s coronavirus test had come back negative. The Inside the NBA analyst took a test on March 12 after complaining on air that he had been feeling ill.
Barkley was very active in calling for the NCAA Tournament to be cancelled. After arriving in Atlanta once the NCAA called off all of its events, Barkley immediately took a test and went into self-quarantine.
“I’d like to thank everyone for reaching out and expressing your concern and support,” Barkley said in a statement issued by the network. “You all be safe and please take the necessary actions to help ensure your well-being.”
Now that he has a clean bill of health, it will be interesting to see if Barkley makes any media appearances. The always opinionated hall-of-famer would be a guest with a lot to say as shows and networks look to fill in the gaps created by the cancellation of all live sports.
