97.1 The Ticket Tops Detroit Radio In Winter Book

Congratulations to Jimmy Powers and the entire staff at Entercom’s 97.1 The Ticket as they continue to be a dominant force among all radio brands in the Detroit market. According to Nielsen Audio, The Ticket’s lineup had a great quarter, with each weekday show finishing either first or second during the winter book.

Year-over-year The Ticket remained in the top spot in weekday prime (M-F 6a – 7p), reeling in an 11.6 share for their targeted demo of men 25-54. The Detroit sports radio station also finished first for the full week, (M-SU 6a – Midnight) with a 9.6 rating.

In morning drive, Jamie Samuelsen and Mike Stone kicked off The Ticket’s weekday lineup with an 8.6, good for a strong second place showing. From 10a – 2p, their midday show hosted by Doug Karsch and Scott Anderson took the top spot with an 11.4, while Mike Valenti continued his strong work in afternoon drive, also finishing first with a 13.9 share.

The Ticket isn’t just competing with local sports talk, but they’re looking to top all radio stations in the market. Success with their targeted audience even carried over into the larger demo of adults 25 – 54, where Valenti finished first in afternoons with an 8 share, Karsch & Anderson were second with a 7.1, while Jamie & Stoney were fourth with a 5.5.
