Kansas City Chiefs Reveal New Radio Crew

It is going to be a very different football season in Kansas City. Sure, we’re all dealing with the pandemic, but in Kansas City, fans will watch the home team take the field as defending champs for the first time in more than half a decade. It will also be the first season the Chiefs call Entercom’s 106.5 The Wolf the team’s radio flagship. Why not add a new broadcast crew to the mix?

Mitch Holthus is back. It will be his 27th season as the voice of the team. His teammates though are different for 2020.

Danan Hughes will be the new analyst next to Holthus in the booth. He was selected by the Chiefs in the 7th round of the 1993 NFL Draft. He was a wide receiver in Kansas City for six seasons. Since retiring, the Iowa grad has worked in broadcasting. He has been a football and baseball analyst for the Big Ten Network since 2008.

Josh Klingler will be the broadcast’s new sideline reporter. The 610 Sports Radio morning co-host has worked the sidelines for Kansas Jayhawks games for the last 14 years.

“Like all of Chiefs Kingdom, we’re eagerly awaiting the return of the defending Super Bowl champions and look forward to another great season,” Entercom Kansas City’s Regional President and Market Manager, Dave Alpert said in a press release. “As the new flagship station of the team, we look forward to providing fans unrivaled coverage of everything Chiefs, including a marquee radio team delivering rich gameday analysis and exciting calls of the action.”
