John Jastremski To Host Nightly Gambling Show At WFAN

WFAN overnight host John Jastremski announced a new gambling show set to debut this Tuesday at 6pm. WFAN’s Odds on Sports will air weekdays from 6 – 6:30pm and Jastremski will also continue his normal overnight show from 1 – 5am.

Jastremski’s new show fills an awkward 30-minute block in WFAN’s lineup which follows their afternoon duo of Joe Benigno and Evan Roberts, and serves as a frequent lead-in for Yankees pregame. The half-hour was originally intended for Mike Francesa after he stepped down from his long-running afternoon show last December, but the 30 minutes wasn’t a good fit, lacking rhythm or direction.

Beginning Tuesday, the timeslot will have a more defined approach. Because Jastremski still has his overnight show, he can keep the 6pm focus on sports wagering without feeling pressure to hit on an array of other topics.

Sports finally returning after a near four-month hiatus due to COVID-19 triggers a restored push for gambling content from media platforms. In addition to Jastremski’s new evening show, WFAN’s midday show with Marc Malusis and Maggie Gray also introduced a daily “Pick of the Day!” segment, where the hosts and producers collaborate to recommend one wager.
