MLS, US Soccer Sign Content Deal With Bleacher Report

Bleacher Report has a deal to create soccer content for American fans to make it easier for the US audience to consume the top plays of both Team USA and the MLS. While the deal only became official this month, Bleacher Report began rolling out MLS content during the recently wrapped MLS is Back Tournament.

Under the terms of the deal, Bleacher Report will create content for all of its platforms featuring the brands. The deal runs through 2022.

“This agreement doubles down on our commitment to U.S. soccer and growing a consequential fanbase here domestically where we see the biggest opportunity in capturing the hearts and minds of a new generation of soccer fans,” Bleacher Report senior vice president of new business development, Raphael Poplock, told Front Office Sports.

MLS and US Soccer will each receive “a six-figure rights fee” and expands MLS’s media partnerships. MLS already has a presence on both FOX and ESPN. A partnership with Bleacher Report could make it easier for parent company Turner to get in on the next round of rights negotiations for the league.
