A Tennessee radio host launched a new on-demand audio platform geared for Nashville sports fans this week. 440 Sports is the creation of 440 Media LLC and former 102.5 The Game morning host Braden Gall.
“Nashville sports fans have been underserved by this city’s sports media for far too long,” Gall said in a press release. “440 Sports allows sports fans to pick and choose what they care about and listen whenever they want.”
Gall most recently occupied mornings on Nashville’s 102.5 The Game, a post he held since 2016, but the on-air personality and his co-host Derrick Mason were let go by the station in February. Their partner Nick Kayal was let go a few months earlier.
440 Sports is launching four new podcasts to start, The 440, The Gold Standard, Fringe Element and Lamestream Sports. In the debut episode, Gall touts 440 Sports as an on-demand audio network that’s “not ruled by any FCC overlords or corporate suits.” Gall will host The 440, a 10-minute podcast that drops every weekday by 4:40am CT, hitting on all the biggest and most important stories for Nashville sports fans.
For The Gold Standard, Gall will be joined weekly by Adam Vingan of The Athletic to host the Nashville Predators podcast. Fringe Element is a weekly SEC football show hosted by Gall and Tennessee native Erin Dugan. Longtime Nashville journalist Steve Cavendish will partner with Gall weekly for Lamestream Sports, a podcast focusing on local sports media and business.
