With CBS recently acquiring the UEFA Champions League television rights in the United States, the network now announced plans for a whiparound style show on every matchday.
Presented similarly to NFL RedZone, The Golazo Show will air on CBS Sports Network, utilizing a split-screen to feature highlights and every goal from every group stage match. The new show will begin at 3pm ET on match days starting next week, when six matches will kick off simultaneously from Europe.
“With multiple matches being played simultaneously across Europe, we wanted to give soccer fans a fun way to experience that excitement and see every goal from every match as well as all the key moments as they happen,” said Dan Weinberg, Executive Vice President, Programming, CBS Sports. “‘The Golazo Show’ will keep fans updated throughout the day’s action with all the goals and latest results, bringing them highlights as soon as they occur while also providing expert analysis – all at a single destination.”
The Golazo Show will be available on CBS Sports Network and their digital platform CBS All Access which will be the exclusive home for Champions League group stage matches in the United States. None of the matches will be shown by CBS on linear television.
