During the 2020 Presidential Election, Georgia, to people’s surprise, was a battleground state that eventually turned blue and went to Democratic Presidential Nominee Joe Biden.
Nonetheless, the decision to award the southern state to Biden didn’t sit well with Georgia GOP Sens. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue. Both senators publicly went after Secretary of State Brad Raffensperger (R), calling for him to resign.
However, those comments from the two senators didn’t sit well with Atlanta Journal-Constitution, who put out an editorial criticizing Loeffler and Perdue.
“Sens. Kelly Loeffler and David Perdue have assaulted Georgia’s election system,” the newspaper said. “That is dangerous behavior, both for this state and for this nation. Speaking on the record, Perdue and Loeffler offered no specifics. And that is what makes their campaign-speak attack message so unacceptable.”
The newspaper went on to say that both senators had no proof to back up their claims when it came to attacking the Georgia electorial system.
