News Talk 830 WCCO is doing its part to help needy families in Minneapolis and beyond. On Wednesday, the station raised more than $300,000 during its 18th annual radiothon called the Union Gospel Mission Hunger Radiothon.
The event has raised more than $3 million since it began back in 2003. This year’s effort will provide 169,000 meals for those in need.

“During this pandemic, I’m incredibly proud of the selflessness and generosity of our listeners who stepped up to help us deliver another successful radiothon,” Senior VP/Market Manager Shannon Knoepke said in a release.
