Jason Whitlock’s Status At Outkick Unclear

Clay Travis took to Outkick.com today to announce that Jason Whitlock was done at the site. Whitlock only joined the company in June.

It seemed like the parting was amicable. Travis was nothing but complimentary of Whitlock and his contributions to Outkick in the article, writing that Whitlock “has provided a series of fantastic columns illuminating and analyzing many of the great divides this country faces. I’m extremely proud of the work he’s done at Outkick and of the fact that we published that work and advanced the marketplace of ideas in the worlds of sports, politics, race, and culture.”

But wait just one minute. Jason Whitlock tweeted an interesting response after the story got out and it leaves people to wonder if everything is as smooth as Travis made it appear.

It seemed strange that a story of this magnitude would be pushed out to the public on an early Saturday afternoon. Whitlock wasn’t just a writer for Outkick, he was a partner too, teaming with both Travis and Sam Savage, and helping play a key role in the brand’s growth over the past 7 months. His profile in the world of political commentary has also been rising. He’s made numerous appearances on Fox News, filled in on radio for Glenn Beck, and contributed written content to Beck’s The Blaze.

So what does all of it mean? Well, it is hard to say, but it is clear something has changed between Whitlock and Travis, and we now await word on where their relationship and business arrangement goes from here.
