FOX Business Reporter on the Rise of Hate Towards Asians

Over the last year, the Asian-American community has seen a rise in racial abuse in relation to the coronavirus pandemic.

During a segment on “Your World with Neil Cavuto,” Fox Business reporter Susan Li touched on her personal experiences with racism while responding to the surge in anti-Asian attacks to program host Charles Payne.

“Someone needs to stand up for us,” Li said. She discussed the rough week that the Asian-American community has been dealing with in the aftermath of last week’s shooting spree in Atlanta that led to eight people killed, including six women of Asian descent.

Li, who was born in China and raised in Canada from the age of two, went on to state information about the rise in violence towards those of Asian descent.

“It’s a fact that anti-Asian violence has surged 150 percent over the past year, according to one California study,” Li said. “It’s a fact that the Asian community is now fearful after these shootings, regardless of motive, and that will play out later on.” “Hopefully, there’s something coming from the White House and also some maybe something from Congress in denouncements and heightened policing would be great.”
