As the 2021 Major League Soccer nears. The newest club to enter the league, Austin FC, ensures that everyone in the local market has easy access to their games in its inaugural year.
The Austin American-Statesman reports that Austin FC will stream all of its regional games this season for free through the team’s website and mobile app.
“This move allows us to cast a wide net. With our previous announcement of regional broadcasts on local television, we’ll have 100 percent of our market who have televisions able to watch games for free,” Austin FC President Andy Loughnane said.
“Now, with the live streaming capabilities on our website and app, 100 percent of people who have internet access within our market can also watch each of the regional broadcasts for free.”
The local market for Austin FC includes the greater Austin and greater San Antonio metropolitan areas. Furthermore, the club is looking into cornering their Spanish-speakers in their region. The club is considering Spanish-speaking broadcast options for TV and streaming.
