Jeopardy Producer Thinks Aaron Rodgers Fits The Show

Last week, Green Bay Packers quarterback Aaron Rodgers said he would like to become the permanent host of “Jeopardy!” during Shailene Woodley’s Instagram Live video.

Rodgers’ comments sparked debate on his commitment to the Packers and football from sports media figures such as Colin Cowherd. In this week’s Football Morning in America, Peter King provided his thoughts on Rodgers potentially trying to balance being a game show host and NFL quarterback.

“My feeling is the biggest hurdle for Rodgers is the show being on hiatus from July 20 to the end of January, give or take a couple of weeks, every year he continues playing football. Six-plus months, dark, is a potential issue, I would think. But if Sony loves Rodgers, anything’s possible,” King wrote.

“Jeopardy!” executive producer Mike Richards stated to King that he’s flattered by Rodgers’ comments about being the permanent host. Furthermore, Richards says that Rodgers has the opportunity to carve out a post-playing career that’s better than his time in football.

“It’s the ultimate compliment to Alex (Trebek) and to the franchise that Aaron is that forward with his thoughts, and so complimentary of the show,” Richards said. “What I find fascinating about Aaron is his second career could be better than his first.”
