An early playoff exit for LeBron James and the Lakers is all a certain segment of fans and the sports media have been waiting for since the NBA Playoffs began. It happened Thursday night, as the Phoenix Suns beat the Lakers in game six of their first round Western Conference Playoff series.
One of the most outspoken and dedicated critics of LeBron James is Skip Bayless. One of the most outspoken and dedicated critics of Bayless has been TNT’s Charles Barkley. The early playoff exit for the defending champs inspired Barkley to threaten Bayless on air during the postgame.
As part of Inside the NBA‘s regular “Gone Fishin'” segment, a photo appeared on screen showing LeBron James and several celebrity Lakers fans jumping off a fishing boat. One of the characters in the photo was a man in a full body cast sitting in a wheelchair.
When Kenny Smith asked who it was supposed to be, Barkley responded “that would be Skip Bayless if I ever got him in a room by himself.” He later added “If I ever get Skip Bayless alone, that’s what he’s gonna need. A full body cast.”
Barkley has never been shy about bashing Skip Bayless. The TNT analyst has often made a familiar accusation, that Bayless is a hot take artists that develops takes he doesn’t necessarily believe in order to generate clicks and likes. And judging by Bayless’s Twitter feed, Barkley will have more fodder for his hatred of the FS1 personality.
And unsurprisingly, he doubled down while sitting across from Shannon Sharpe on FS1’s Undisputed on Friday.
These two have disliked each other for a long time. The first time Barkley mentioned hating Bayless (and BSM’s own Jay Mariotti) was in 2005 as part of a Washington Post column.
Don’t say “these two” when Charles is namely the one who aims at Skip. The question and problem is: why is Charles Barkley not fired for threatening someone to murder them? Was he playing? It doesn’t matter, no professional worker should ever be allowed to talk like that.
Charles is a confirmed loser. Between the arrests, DUI’s, being a deadbeat and owing Vegas casino’s money, I don’t understand people’s infatuation with him. And then threatening another sports entertainer with violence, he should of been fired a long time ago. Skip is self made, he doesn’t ride the coattails of the TNT crew.
So Barkley is loser and Skip is somehow the man. SMH i’m leave that one alone
